STEM Squad Profile: Judy Lobo

I am a mixed-race, latina scientist. I am a neuroscience and psychology gradaute student at the University of Miami. In my research I am lucky to employ two disparate methods, neuroimaging analysis and flow cytometry, to study how the brain is related to other health factors. At the moment, I am working on what leads to successful cognitive aging and the effects of HIV on the brain. On the side, I am an amateur photographer and enjoy taking pictures of the things I see at the lab. I hope to use my unique position in the world to show how visually engaging science research can be. My next step is likely a post-doc in neuroimaging, however I am open to other opportunities that time will bring.
